FUJIFILM IRIDESSE

In 2025, Smith Print upgraded to the Xerox Iridesse production press. This was a natural progression from the Xerox 800 we had previously – it enables us to print onto thicker card as well as a larger sheet. Furthermore, it increased our colour gamut by adding fluorescent pink, silver, gold and white to the mix.
The Iridesse can print in black and white, as well as full colour, and up to six colours, including clear, gold, silver & white, on card up to 400gsm in one pass. The minimum sheet size is 102 x 152mm, with a maximum of 330 x 900mm.
Smith Print is in a unique position because of the relationship we have with Fujifilm; we can offer boutique, small-run printing using a fully featured production press, which would usually be the domain of the large commercial printing companies.
The digital format is best suited for small runs or for quick turnarounds.
SPECIALTY TONERS
Now along with full colour printing we can offer specialty toners which can be mixed with regular cmyk to make a much larger gamut of colour. Each has its own strengths and benefits. The specialty toner is priced differently to our standard printing and pricing will depend on coverage and which colour is being used.

METALLIC GOLD
For the longest time metallic gold was only possible with expensive gold foiling or offset inks. Now we can offer low cost metallic gold digital printing. For best results, we recommend coated (satin or gloss) paper.

METALLIC SILVER
The metallic silver can be mixed with full CMYK to create a wide range of metallic tones, from ice blues to shimmery pinks, as well as alternative gold and bronze tones. For best results, we recommend coated (satin or gloss) paper.

OPAQUE WHITE
Opaque white is ideal for non standard papers, such as kraft, black or coloured papers and card. Can be underlaid to print regular colours on dark or coloured paper.

CLEAR
The clear toner can be used as a gloss accent on matt – by itself for overlaying other graphics. It also can be used as an underlay on textured stock to help with full colour coverage.

FLURO PINK
Although this one seems very specific, it is actually extremely useful! Mixed with CMYK, we can now get bright and vibrant digital reds, oranges, purples and pinks. We can match much closer to Pantones in this range.
